Why doesn't everyone want to be a Christian?
Once again many [children] came back during invitation time. Six expressed a desire for salvation and several had questions. One young girl we mentioned last semester wanted to know why everyone doesn’t want to be a Christian! I am excited to say she is now attending church every week. Other questions centered around trying to understand how God can be in two places at once or raise from the dead. One of the counselors reported that one boy she spoke with said he had never heard what we were saying (the gospel) before. ( This boy lost his father 3 years ago to cancer).
In all my years of teaching, I have never seen so many come back to talk with us after the lesson. Perhaps since there is so little cultural knowledge of Christ today, the Gospel has real drawing power with children under those circumstances. It is so new and fresh and not clouded in religiosity.
