This summer I enjoyed watching the kids learn and laugh and giving them a place to learn about Jesus. I saw God answer our prayers for protection, strength, and help. We faced heat, tiredness and sometimes lack of enthusiasm. My faith was challenged, but it became stronger watching God go above and beyond my expectations.

Getting to lead my first child to the Lord was so surreal! Seeing her understand the truth of Jesus for herself and believe it made all the challenges more than worth it. My summer of ministry will help me interact with people and kids and give me confidence to share the gospel. I will always remember to say YES to God and follow his dream for my life no matter what.

"The thing that surprised me [about CYIA] the most was how at home I felt. Staff and students welcomed me and included me just like I had always been there. I got told all the inside jokes and funny stories! I was afraid of learning the Bible lessons and especially the counselling. God finally brought me to a place where I made the choice to trust Him even though I didn’t think I could do it... The godly atmosphere and encouraging environment opened my eyes to what it really looks like to share the gospel with kids. It's not about saying the Bible lesson perfectly or memorizing the counselling questions. It's about Jesus. And if you keep focused on Jesus, you never need to be afraid. I feel ready, excited, and confident in what God can do through me and all my teammates."

God has big plans for me this summer! I am going to be a summer missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®). During the months of June and July I will be assisting 5-Day Clubs - similar to Vacation Bible School - reaching children throughout Central Indiana. Our goal is to present the Gospel to every child in Central Indiana. I will be receiving training for this ministry through Christian Youth in Action, a training and discipleship program run by CEF.
I am praying for a team of supporters who will pray and give financial assistance. The entire ministry of CEF relies on donors to fund the work.
