John grew up in a church that has a long history of working with CEF, but his first official association with CEF came when, as a businessman, he was asked to serve on the local committee for CEF of Greater Richmond. John saw that God was using CEF to impact the next generation for Christ, and soon his time and energy was less devoted to his business, John Luck Renovations, and more and more to the work of reaching children with the gospel.
In 2008, John was supposed to travel to Kenya to see the work of CEF and attend a Board meeting. Political unrest in Kenya prevented the trip, and John volunteered to do “whatever” for CEF during the time he had set aside. He was asked to go to Chicago and visit with pastors in an effort to have them learn about CEF. As a result of that trip, John started traveling every other week for CEF as a volunteer – talking with pastors about CEF. He served as the volunteer project manager for Good News Across America for Chicago, Little Rock, Boston, Salt Lake, and Denver. In 2013 he joined the CEF Headquarters staff full time at the invitation of then President, Reese Kauffman. He currently serves as the Vice President of Global Partnership for Child Evangelism Fellowship and works to resource and assist Gospel ministry around the world. |
